If it’s Oscar Rodriguez Maradiaga then I would share a latter surname with pope. If it’s him or Francisco Javier Errazuriz Ossa the entire basque country and about 90% of my family will flip their shit about there being a “Basque” pope.

When Ratzinger was being chosen I happened to be visiting my gran in Bilbao and it was incredible how big a deal this was. I’ve joked that it was bigger than eurovision, but it did feel a bit like that.
